Wow, there's been a lot happening with the world since I last posted.
The genocide in Gaza continues Ibtihal Aboussad, a worker at Microsoft whose conscience dictated she speak up at a recent corporate meeting was fired.
This comes in addition to MS changing it's commitments to a Wisconsin Data Center; as well as more recently reversing course on an Ohio data center.
As a Wisconsinite the first one bugs me because the history of this particular location is already one where a "7 billion dollar factory" was "negotiated" between Shitweasel Former Govern Scott Walker & Foxconn Wikipedia. Foxconn reneged on the deal and we had to find an "alternate option" (Microsoft) who then "screwed" us over again.
That said I'm less annoyed at that because it would go to bullshit AI generators, which... gets me to my point.
They are continuing to push AI - most recently pushing it back into Win11 after massive outcry of their spying bullshit (fuck your "oh privacy centered"). I already ranted before, not doing it now.
So - between the renewed AI push for Win11, the EOS of Win10 coming up, but most especially the firing of Ibtihal Aboussad, I've decided it's about time to start the process.
I'm still unemployed, which means I don't have a lot of extra money to spend on frivolities like an extra boot drive (my undersatnding is Linux, these days, is better served multiboot by installing on a 2nd drive, and then selecting in the BIOS which drive you wanna boot from (or rather, set it to install Linux on a separate drive, while the Windows drive is unplugged, then add the windows drive back and have your Linux boot process be the one in control), because Windows (fuckstick that it is), wants to take it all over, just like the rapists in Silicon Valley with their "easier to ask forgiveness than permission"). I would LIKE to do a dual boot just to see how it all works in case I need to revert, and especially if I won't have access to Win10 install media (which I upgraded, so I'd have to do Win7, then Auth, I think then run the upgrade)... So without a second drive, I'm gonna have to basically say BYYYYYYYYYYE. For good.
That's gonna be rough, especially if a lot of my Steam Library no longer works well. But goddamnit, I am just sick and tired of these Silicon Valley thugs acting like they can dictate to us how we use our computers, what it means to be free, to sell our date, and give up all this shit.
So that's the next thing on the menu.
I've also thought about Learning Blender for a Survivors-Like game idea I have, based on one of my older game ideas from like 2010, revamped to a modern genre with more depth.
In the meantime I also have to "clean my room" like JBP tells me, I must SLAY that dark dragon, or my name isn't "George".
